BROMSGROVE Rovers will have to perform miracles in the last week of the season if they are to avoid a third relegation in five seasons.
Two weekend defeats, 2-1 against Paget Rangers on Saturday and 1-0 at Racing Club Warwick yesterday, leave Rovers favourites for relegation from the Dr Martens League Western Division.
A very poor Warwick side failed to create a chance in 90 minutes, yet still won!
For Rovers Lee Hughes put Costa Xiourouppa in for a shot, which deflected for a corner, while Hughes shot wide.
The deciding moment of the match came on 34 minutes. Kevin Elvin floated a free kick into the area, Rovers 'keeper James McGetterick attempted to catch the ball in a crowded area and was impeded, the ball spun loose and Keith Marlow had the simple task of scoring.
Luke Yates then created a good chance for Kevin Banner, but he lost out in a challenge on 'keeper Craig Dutton.
Bromsgrove totally controlled the second half but couldn't score. Dutton saved at the feet of Xiourouppa, and then denied Hughes twice while Tim Nicholls shot over the bar. The bext chance saw Xiourouppa's shot hit Dutton and trickle wide of the post.
