A CELEBRATION of spring will go ahead despite foot-and-mouth restrictions.
Walkers are gearing up for a two-hour bluebell walk in Worcester's Tolladine Wood, meeting up at 2pm on Saturday.
Project Greenspace Officer for the city council Rory McClure, and local history expert Chris Monkhouse, will be leading the walk starting at St Nicholas Church, Warndon.
There will be an introduction to the architecture and history of the church, followed by a walk along the new plantations to Tolladine Wood.
During the walk, leaders will provide an insight into the ecology of the wood, the bluebells and the sculpture trail.
Wheelchairs
Most of the walk is suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs but access to the wood will be more difficult because of unsurfaced paths.
Mr McClure said the annual event was an ideal opportunity to learn more about the local area.
"Walkers will be able to get some fresh air and see actual proof that spring has sprung, despite the rain," he said.
