WHAT a difference a week makes!
After last week's inconsistency, the Stoke Prior teams faired much better in their respective leagues.
In Warwickshire and Worcestershire Premier Division Seven, Stoke gave an almighty thrashing to their visitors, Barn Social.
Derek Burton gave Stoke the perfect start with the perfect card, 21-0.
With nine more winning cards the Bromsgrove outfit completely overwhelmed the away side by more than 80 shots.
The junior side remain unbeaten in Warwickshire and Worcestershire Alliance Division Five after a brilliant 15 shot away win at local rivals from Rubery, RSJC.
Peter Bridgman clocked in 21-2, while that man from Swindon, Pete Harvey, again triumphed 21-6.
With Charlie Wilkes' 21-8, the Stoke boys were well pleased with their days work.
In the Big Crown League, Stoke travelled away to Yardley Wood Social, and secured a fine away victory by 16 shots.
Colin Woolvin's 21-9 did the most damage in a 142-126 success.The Yardley Wood and District team just missed out by a narrow six shots away at Black Horse.
On a waterlogged surface, it was debatable if the game should take place.
But after a clearing up operation, the home sides' efforts were rewarded with victory.
l CHARFORD Bowling Club stage their second Open Triples Competition on Sunday May 6.
Bowlers from Warwickshire and Worcestershire will take part, with part sponsorship by Clarkes Toyota of Bromsgrove.
The event starts at 10am and continues throughout the day.
The Austin Road club -- part of Bromsgrove and District Indoor Bowling Club -- has just completed the re-laying of their outdoor all-weather rink and are looking for new members.
Bowlers who join Charford Bowling Club have the added benefit of being a full member of Bromsgrove Indoor Bowling Club for the same joining fee.
The club is open all year round and competes in both summer and winter leagues.
The club, which boasts excellent bar and food facilities, welcomes beginners and the more able bowlers.
