AS a dog owner who uses all of the parks in Redditch, please allow me to comment upon the letters about Morton Stanley Park.
There may be no law about 'dogs on leads' but there is a MAFF recommendation that all dogs near an outbreak of foot and mouth should be exercised on leads and all faeces be cleared.
Surely, with farmers in Astwood Bank, Sambourne, Crabbs Cross and Bordesley having their livestock culled due to "dangerous contact", it is not too much to ask that dog owners abide by the recommendation and keep their dogs on leads until the crisis is over and abide by the law to clear faeces?
Let us hope that the recent council advertisement for a dog warden "enforcer" will result in all dog owners being more responsible in the future.
