REDDITCH RFC finished the season with a flourish on Saturday, racking up half a century in a hastily-arranged friendly against arch-rivals Alcester.
A depleted Redditch side, hungover from their annual presentation the previous evening, ran riot at Kings Coughton.
12-6 up at half-time a Kingfishers side marshalled by new player-coach Danny Badham, won 53-6 to leave Alcester captain Andy Flynn shell-shocked.
"They played really well and I was very impressed," said Flynn.
"Their new player-coach had a stormer and will make a difference next season.
"They had a lot of new faces from when we played them earlier in the season and could be a force next year if they can keep the side together."
And Redditch skipper Andy Douglas said there was hope for next season, whichever league the Bromsgrove Road side end up in.
"Whether we stay up or go down we can be strong next time out," he said.
"We can get a number of players fit in the close season and the future looks bright because Danny has had an impact already."
Redditch's future is still in doubt because Midlands Four West basement boys Stoke OB have a game to play and can swap places with second from bottom Redditch.
Mark Rose was named Player of the Year at Redditch's annual awards with John Coote Most Improved Player, Doug Billyard Clubman of the Year and Chris Oldfield Young Player of the Year.
Alcester finished an arduous season with their annual Sevens tournament.
Pershore won the main competition with neighbours Woodrush winning the Plate.
The hosts joined Claverdon, Birmingham CS, Lancashire side Edgehill College, Dutch outfit Zwolle, Birmingham Medics, Old Griffs and Harbury.
The Kings Coughton club will send a representative side to the Harold Stilwell Trophy at Shipston on Saturday.
