TWO dogs, six cats and four chinchillas were rescued by firefighters after a blaze broke out in a Batchley home.
Fire crews were called to the kitchen blaze at about 1.50pm on Saturday and used a thermal imaging camera to locate the pets at the Bridley Moor Road home.
A parrot died in the fire, which completely gutted the kitchen and destroyed a large proportion of the home.
No people had to be rescued.
