Garringtons Sunday (1) 5

Bromsgrove General (0) 2

Worcester Nursing Cup semi-final (at Garringtons)

BOTH sides played the first half in typical cup tie fashion but it was Garringtons who took the lead on the stroke of half time when Steve Evans crossed for Steve Morgan to score a diving header.

Within minutes Dean Tilley crossed for Steve Evans to head home. The flood gates were now open for goals and it was Tilley who rounded three men to score a great goal in the 52nd minute.

General pulled a great goal back when their striker hit a 25- yard cross-shot on the hour.

In the 65th minute, Richard Pincher was played through to beat General's offside trap and he went round the 'keeper to score.

With the game seemingly won, it went quiet until the 83rd minute when General scored from a corner, despite the best efforts of Peter Shaw to keep the ball out.

In the last minute, Pincher broke through to make it 5-2. They face Bromsgrove Athletico in the final, at Worcester City FC on Saturday May 12, at 7pm.

Garringtons Sunday (3) 3 Black Horse (0) 2. This game between two of the top sides turned out to be a tale of two halves.

Garringtons, struggling to put a side out, went straight at Black Horse and as early as the fourth minute Luke Chance scored a fine goal which rocked Black Horse and motivated Garringtons.

Garringtons second goal came from an own goal when Kevin Halsall and Richard Pincher put the Black Horse defender under pressure.

They went further ahead when a Black Horse defender scored an own goal on half time.

The second half saw a changed Black Horse and it was Martin Kite who caused the problems, scoring two goals.

Garringtons had to defend stoutly to hang on for three well-earned points.

Garringtons Sunday (0) 0 Fairfield Sunday (0) 0. Garringtons should have done better, having 80 per cent of the game but not turning possession into goals. Credit to Fairfield, they defended well and attacked on the break in force.
