ONE of the most influential groups from the Swinging Sixties will return by popular demand to the Palace Theatre this weekend.
The Searchers followed the success of The Beatles and capitalised upon the then Mersey sound, clocking up 14 chart hits and record sales of more than 30 million.
The group - Frank Allen, John McNally, Spencer James and Eddie Rothe - continue to entertain audiences of all ages with hits including Sweets For My Sweet, Sugar and Spice, Needles and Pins and When You Walk In The Room.
The Searchers will perform on Friday and Saturday from 7.30pm.
