WYTHALL lost to Highgate on Saturday in the only pre-season friendly they managed to stage but hopes are high for prodigal son Tom Scott who knocked an unbeaten 85.
Scott was missing last season as he went travelling but is back to boost the Warwickshire Four Central side this term.
Another prodigal son is fellow bat Keith Wilson who is available for the league opener at Handsworth on Saturday (2pm start).
"We played Handsworth in the league two years ago and had a close-fought game," said Wythall captain Martin Priest.
"They have an impressive strike bowler who we will have to watch but we are hopeful we can start the season with a win."
