AS a successful year as Alcester Mayor finally draws to a close, Eric Payne is set to hand over the chain of office to Councillor Wendy Weatherhead.
Mrs Weatherhead was due to be elected as new mayor at the town council meeting last night.
Mrs Weatherhead said: "I think Eric has done an absolutely brilliant job and I'm very much looking forward to my time as mayor of Alcester."
