WHEN we moved into our property in Mulberry Tree Hill, Droitwich, a year ago, we had to have all the usual searches carried out for a mortgage.
One of which came back saying the empty plot of land in Primsland Way would not be built on because it used to be a land fill site.
There was no mention of the proposed plans that had been put forward. Shortly after we moved in, some residents came round with a petition opposing plans for development on the land. I signed it along with many others.
It then went quiet for some time and we didn't hear any more about it until your article saying the land had been given back to the council.
Then we saw signs appear on lampposts saying an alcohol licence was going to be applied for.
I made some inquiries and was horrified to find that after an appeal the plans had resubmitted and passed.
I wrote to the town clerk expressing my disgust about the development. He said the applicants took it to an appeal and won despite the objections from families.
Droitwich Spa Town Council objected to an application for an alcohol licence but this again was granted in Redditch. Why?
