KINGS Heath manager Sean Lawless was set to wield the axe for the visit of Handrahan Timbers tonight (Wednesday, ko 7.45pm).

Lawless was fuming after watching his side slump to a 3-0 defeat to Coventry Sphinx on Saturday and was ready to make five changes for the visit of lowly Timbers.

And the Kingsmen boss warned his players their untimely loss of form could see them miss out on the much-delayed Birmingham Senior Cup quarter final against West Bromwich Albion - if the match is ever played.

The Lye Meadow tenants have turned to the Birmingham FA after the Baggies said they could not raise a team to play on any night this week.

West Brom have reached the last eight without kicking a ball in the competition.

After byes in the opening rounds, the First Division giants saw last sixteen opponents Evesham booted out of the competition.

But the Baggies could face the same fate after refusing to play this week.

Goalkeeper Dave Hancox was hoping to return tonight after an ankle injury.

Attacking midfielder Keith Rostill, a former West Brom goalkeeper, deputised against Sphinx.

Defender Dean Donaghie was set to return after suspension, striker James Miah is available, left midfielder Dave Sheward is back from holiday and midfielder Jimmy Kernick is in the frame after missing most of the season with knee and ankle operations.

Kings Heath visit Bolehall on Saturday (ko 2.45pm) and entertain Pershore on Tuesday (ko 7.30pm).
