ALVECHURCH goalkeeper Paul Hammond had a hectic time last night playing three matches - and turning out twice for the Lye Meadow club.
The Church have a goalkeeping crisis for Saturday's Challenge Cup semi final against Nuneaton Griffs.
First choice Dave Inman is at his sister's wedding, reserve Danny Lewis is best man at his brother's wedding and youth teamer Lee Power has not signed first team forms.
The club turned to Hammond who was signed at the start of the season but had not played - before last night.
But to be eligible for the cup semi players have to have made three appearances in the Midland Combination league.
Hammond started his hectic evening at Bromsgrove where he played the first two minutes of Alvechurch Reserves' home match against Wilnecote Sports in Division Three of the Combination, kicking off at 6.30pm.
Then it was off to Fairfield for his Fairfield Sunday side fixture which kicked off at 7pm.
And after the final whistle, Hammond hot-footed it Lye Meadow for the first team's Premier Division clash against Meir KA, and came off the bench for the last ten minutes.
hammond will play his third Combination match at home to Southam for the first team tomorrow night (Thursday) before his cup debut at the weekend.
