IT came as no surprise last week to discover that residents of Bromsgrove are represented in the House of Commons by a part time MP.
While reading numerous articles and noticing the frequency of TV appearances I have often wondered how on earth Miss Kirkbride fits it all in. Well of course she can't, and the recently released figures for the last quarter confirm it.
Bromsgrove's MP has only managed to cast her vote at about 40 per cent of parliamentary debates.
Her attendance record ranks her 535th out of 650. This can only be described as an absolute disgrace.
If we compare this performance with other local MPs - who attended almost 80 per cent of votes - it looks even grimmer.
Our MP's decision to move out of Bromsgrove and set up home in London would now appear not to be aimed at improving her parliamentary participation.
We can only conclude that Miss Kirkbride has far more important jobs to do than represent the constituents of Bromsgrove in the House of Commons.
