THE Peter Luff versus Tony Blair battle rages on -- but the Prime Minister is still boxing clever.

Before the MPs took an Easter break, Mr Luff was enraged by a seven-word Parliamentary written answer from the PM.

He had been upset that rural MPs had not been invited to join the PM during his visit to see how the foot-and-mouth crisis was affecting Worcester.

Fearing Mr Blair had not got the true picture, he tabled a formal question in the Commons demanding to know exactly who he did meet.

But the response was a less than illuminating: "I met farming and tourism local representatives."

So this week Mr Luff phrased the question in a slightly different way and climbed back in the ring.

But Mr Blair ducked the punch, before coming back with a blow of his own.

He wrote: "It is not normal practice to release details of meetings with private individuals."
