conservators are hoping to open the middle section of the Malvern Hills but it is too early to say when, according to director Ian Rowat.
The northern end of the range - from the Wyche Cutting - was reopened to the public just before the Easter weekend.
The hills and common land around Malvern were closed for the first time in history at the end of February, when the magnitude of the crisis became apparent.
Mr Rowat said this week: "We have to satisfy MAFF that we're taking all possible precautions with disinfectant and so on.
"The Environment Agency also has concerns about the possibility of disinfectant contaminating spring water. As soon as we can balance these concerns, we'll open this part of the hills. But it's too early to say when that can be."
Mr Rowat urged walkers on the northern section to abide by the rules and access the hills only from the four car parks - Beacon Road, Earnslaw, North Malvern and Tank Quarry - and use the foot baths.
Wells Common and Newland Common were reopened last month.
