CHADDESLEY Corbett narrowly failed to secure their first Worcestershire County League Division One win of the season against Old Luctonians.
Their opponents reached their victory target with two balls to spare to end on 145-7 in a match reduced to 47 overs.
Chaddesley were put into bat but Luctonians openers were unable to use the conditions to their advantage.
The villagers progressed to 96 before the first wicket fell when Matt Boden was caught behind for 52.
When John Riches became the third man to go three overs later for 38, the run rate slowed down.
George Baylis hit out late on to enable Chaddesley to reach 144-7.
Spinners Paul Connolly and John Riches checked Luctonians' good start and 35 runs were needed with three wickets and seven overs left.
Price senior and junior worked the ball round and crucial chances were missed before Price senior pushed Riches through mid-wicket for one to win the match.
There was better news in a Sunday friendly for Chaddesley who triumphed by three wickets at Malvern side Barnards Green.
Chasing 171 to win, opener Neil Fletcher hit 72 before Chaddesley were pegged back by accurate spin bowling.
There were just three balls left when Boden swept the winning boundary to finish on 174-7.
Boden earlier took 4-32 in a good personal weekend as Barnards Green were restricted to 170-9 with T Harvey making 72.
