TENNIS: Stourport Tennis Club men began their Herefordshire and Worcestershire League programme with the C team's resounding 6-0 win at Pershore.
They were relegated last summer but new captain Nick Mantle brought the winter side up and hopes to do the same during the summer.
Martin Bradley and Gareth Williams won their two matches comfortably.
Long-established pairing Graham Ashmore and Mantle had one tie-break set and so did Nick Lathe and Andy Southall.
The newly promoted B team will begin their league season with a home match against Ross on May 10.
There is free tennis for all at the club's Tan Lane premises on Saturday from 11am until 4pm as part of a national programme.
