MOTOR SPORT: NO sooner has Karl Grove returned from a California world training camp, the professional motocross racer has made plans to return.
His recent trip back to England after a six-month stay in the USA has proved fruitless as the foot and mouth crisis has decimated the sport.
Stourport's Grove was so impressed with his stay overseas, where he also clocked up a string of wins in REM winter series races, that he planned to return today.
Meanwhile, the 25-year-old has been keeping fit for the gruelling sport at the Sebastian Coe Health Club in Heath Hotel.
He said: "I will go back out to California again for another month. There's not much here for me as the British Championships have been cancelled until June.
"It's a shame because I was looking forward to returning here. I was starting to win out there, which was encouraging, but I can't even ride over here.
"Most of the land we race on is farmland and it's obviously a real danger for the farmers.
"But my recent results are brilliant for everyone who has backed me this year."
Grove is in the top 60 at 125cc level in Britain and turned professional after an operation on a recurring dislocated left shoulder.
