A NEW campaign aimed at cutting vehicle crime in town centre car parks is being launched next week.
Kidderminster police will be visiting sites in the centre to raise awareness of ways in which the public can protect themselves and their vehicles.
In addition, police will be on the look out for vehicles classified as vulnerable because they have been left unattended with valuable items such as handbags visible.
Owners of these vehicles will receive a letter warning them of the risk to their property and giving appropriate advice.
WPC Sarah Jones, of Kidderminster police, said: "This is part of an ongoing initiative which is a joint effort between Wyre Forest District Council, West Mercia Constabulary and the Town Centre Partnership.
"Our aim is to give advice which will reduce vehicle crime and make Kidderminster car parks a safer place to leave your car."
Police will be using a mobile unit with a display of posters and will be distributing leaflets and offering advice to motorists between Tuesday and May 18.
