DAVID Lock in his column (Shuttle, April 26) says "racism" is wrong. It absolutely is. As an Englishman, I feel discriminated against.
Why is it OK for Greg Dyke (who gave £50,000 to the Labour Party and then became politically impartial head of the BBC) to refer to the BBC as "hideously white"?
Why is it OK for the Runnymede Report, initially welcomed by Jack Straw, to say British means racist?
Why can a Scottish football crowd chant "If you hate the ******* English clap your hands"?.
Why are Britain and England the only cultures routinely denigrated?
Is it a coincidence that the English have been deliberately missed off the Census form and that there is no such place as England on the original administrative map of the EU?
Mr Lock, quite politely, has implied I hold outdated and distorted views.
The dominant Left has always disliked the idea of a multi-racial country with a unifying allegiance, say to the Crown.
Now the Government of which Mr Lock is a member, does appear keen to abolish the English.
Perhaps I am outdated or even paranoid but it is all rather sad.
