THE reopening of part of the hills on Saturday should be a matter of rejoicing; however by Sunday morning that unique product, the Malvern dog owner, had already allowed the deposit of innumerable piles of excrement to accumulate almost wherever one trod.
Have these people no shame at all to allow these dangerous and disgusting deposits of infectious filth to be left where they fall? There are even new notices politely asking people to clear up the mess for which they are responsible and to keep their dogs under close control - that latter point is nothing but a sick joke also.
It is frequently said on your letter pages that uncivil dog owners are a minority. What hopeful rubbish; in almost 50 years of walking the hills I have never seen a so-called responsible dog person clean up their pets faeces.
I add my name to the increasing number who are asking the Conservators to ban all except working dogs from the hills.
In the meantime, will some dog owner write to your paper and justify their outrageous irresponsibility.
