MAY I congratulate you on your balanced article about the provision of temporary toilets at the new hospital site (Ledbury Reporter, April 27).

In my opinion the temporary toilets, described as contractors toilets, are an insult to able-bodied people and a complete disregard for the needs of people with disabilities. The question needs to be asked why the Herefordshire Council, who I assume leased the land of the 'old' Bye Street toilets, allowed the toilets to be removed without provision of suitable alternative facilities?

The response from Shaw Homes that they could not find suitable disabled facilities for the sloping nature of the temporary site I find amazing. Have they never seen what is achieved at fetes and other outdoor events.

For a 'caring' business, which is going to be a major provider of health care in Ledbury, Shaw Homes seem to have some way to go.
