Joshua Dale, aged 12, has been selected to play a prominent role in The Prisoner's Dilemma.
He impressed at tough auditions and will appear in every other show between July and October.
The play was written by David Edgar and is directed by Michael Attenbor-ough, the son of TV naturalist David Attenbor-ough.
It is about life in Europe following the Cold War.
Joshua, a Droitwich Spa High School pupil, will be treading the "bards" at The Other Place Theatre, in Stratford-upon-Avon.
The Willow Drive resident is a Carlton TV Workshop member.
The drama project helps young stars perfect their skills and sets them on the road for fame.
Proud dad Jim said: "We are still waiting for further details about Joshua's part and exactly what is expected of him but we are very excited.
"He has always had a keen interest in acting but we've never been pushy.
"Getting this role is all down to his hard work and talent."
