QUALITY construction work in the Malvern Hills area was rewarded this week by Malvern Hills District Council.
The MHDC Built In Quality Award Scheme is for builders who achieve outstanding quality in their construction work, particularly relating to building control and is the only award of its type to cover all forms of building construction.
The scheme covers three categories: Commercial and Industrial; Multiple Housing; Domestic Alterations, Extensions and Single Houses.
This year's winners were:
Commercial and Industrial - Weaver PLC for Hastings in Barnard's Green and Osborne Court; Flanagan Contractors Ltd for Malvern Rugby Club.
Multiple Housing - Brandon House Properties Ltd (formerly JJH Homes) for seven houses on St Peter's Road; Meades of Evesham Ltd for eight Elgar Housing Association dwellings at Hope End, Clifton-on-Teme.
Domestic Alterations, Extensions and Single Houses - I and A Crispe Partnership for barn conversion in Forthampton; Simon McHugh for barn conversion in Shuttlefast Lane, Malvern; Keith Luff for house on Bransford Road, Rushwick.
The winners will receive a certificate and be entitled to use the Built In Quality logo, as well as gaining public recognition for their work.
Nominations are made by the building control surveyors of MHDC throughout the year. The winners will receive their awards later this month at a ceremony in the Royal Kent Suite at the Foley Arms Hotel.
