AN Evesham woman has overcome mobility problems to win a fitness award.
Jenny Prior, aged 51, of Montfort Street, who works at Evesham Community Hospital and attends the One-on-One fitness centre three times a week, won £250 and a year's membership for winning the female section of the activate category in the centre's Millennium Challenge.
The challenge was set up to provide members of the centre with a major incentive to achieve fitness goals in the Millennium Year and was split into three categories - activate, appearance and achievement.
Jenny suffered from a severe lack of mobility in her arms and shoulders through a muscle disorder she has had since childhood, but through hard work and perseverance has now achieved 80% mobility, which has also enabled her to reach for things, something that she could not do before. She said: "I can actually see the improvement, so even if I hadn't won the award I would have been happy."
