BUDDING teenage tycoons at a Vale school have shown their heads for business by carrying off a prize in a competition for in-school companies.
The Prince Henry's High School Educ8 team beat off the challenge of five other Evesham and Pershore schools to win the Wychavon Shield for Young Enterprise companies.
It is the fourth year running the school has earned the award.
Under the Young Enterprise scheme, pupils work with mentors from local businesses, forming companies to simulate the world of commerce. Pupils adopt roles such as managing director, make and sell products or deliver services and prepare reports and accounts.
The seven-strong Educ8 team has produced kits to help pre-school children learn how to tell the time.
Besides winning the shield, the team goes on to compete in the South Worcestershire round of the competition and, possibly, at Midlands level.
The Wychavon Shield win was announced at Pershore College.
Alan Roberts, Prince Henry's head of sixth form who co-ordinates the school's Young Enterprise activities, said there was no great secret to its consistent success.
"The students seem to enjoy it and enjoy getting involved," he added.
