EVESHAM WMC Reserves failed in their bid to become the first reserve team to lift the Tewkesbury Sports Knockout Cup.

The Workies started the stronger in front of a crowd of around 300 but it was Upton Snodsbury who took the lead shortly before half time when Gary Aldington headed home from a free kick.

Workies drew level on the hour through Williams but the match was settled 14 minutes from time when a miscued clearance from goalkeeper Hunt led to Rogers crossing to Neil Annis to score.

Inkberrow gained valuable Division One points at Mickleton with goals from Scrafton (2) and Kefford, while Guiting Rangers finished a successful first season in the top flight with a comfortable win at Tewkesbury Town with goals from Stroud, Hughes, Smith, Arkell and Clarke.

A Burrows goal gave Offenham the points at Peopleton but Rovers now have to rely on other results if they are to gain promotion. Badsey Rec need four points from their remaining two matches following victory over Moreton Town. Schembri (3), Bishop and McDermott were on target.

Red Horse kept up their promotion bid as four goals from Stone helped defeat Blockley Sports.

Ashton moved a step nearer promotion from the third division with victory at Stratford thanks to goals from Hunting and Basham.

Trumpeteers kept in touch as Houghton and Andrews scored against Plum Tree. Broadway United completed the double over Littleton with goals from Hawkins (2), Hodson and Tustin.

Ambassador moved within a point of the Division Four crown with the season's top score of 13 against Crown Athletic as Ian Crawford scored seven times and Doe hit a hat-trick.

Salford Rovers clinched promotion after goals from Taylor (4), Ross (3) and Marshall helped hammer Servicemen's.

Haven Harriers finished the season in style, hitting six past Tewkesbury Tow. Richmond scored a hat-trick.
