Bishampton Utd 0, Malvern Rangers 3
LACKING several players away at a wedding in Scotland, Bishamp-ton wound up their home games with a much changed line-up.
Malvern, with a strong wind at their backs, failed to make inroads during the early stages of an evenly balanced match.
It was 25 minutes before the first chance came along, and it was Malvern who should have taken the lead, but veteran Dave Tainton headed tamely over the bar.
However, they did take the lead five minutes later when the Bishampton defence was caught out by a long ball. Stand-in keeper Mark Onens rushed out to save well but Chris Davies clipped the rebound over to the unmarked Tainton who headed into an empty net.
Bishampton only threatened the Malvern goal at corners and free kicks and they were dealt a further blow when they conceded a second goal just before half time.
The ball was needlessly lost on half way line and it fell to Davies whose instinctive shot from 40 yards sailed over Onens and into the net.
The second half saw Bishampton apply pressure and they should have reduced the deficit when Greg Mason evaded two tackles only to be thwarted by the keeper's legs.
Mason was then unlucky when his header just cleared the crossbar.
Radar weathered the storm and put the game beyond Bishampton's reach when Rob Perrins floated the ball into the top corner.
The game now degenerated with many niggling tackles as the referee struggled to keep control and Bishampton lost their discipline when Mark Insall became their first player to be sent off in two years. Stuart Hubball soon followed - again for dissent after a bad tackle.
