WORCESTERSHIRE Industrial Mission is planning to strengthen its team to cope with the growing demand for its businesses.
Part of a nationwide ecumenical organisation dedicated to bringing pastoral care into the working environment, the Mission helps businesses by sending team members out to make regular visits to provide spiritual support and practical advice to everyone in the organisation, whatever their faith.
It also offers seminars and training on issues that affect people at work.
Tailored
Rev Stephen Winter, a full- time Mission member and Church of England vicar, said that visits from the team could be tailored to suit each company.
"One business we visit regularly is Rescroft, a long-established Redditch company which designs and manufactures vehicle seating," he said.
"Rescroft's management believes strongly that it's important to offer pastoral care at work, so they are happy for me to walk around and chat to everyone. A smaller business might need us for just an hour or so, while large companies could ask for longer or more frequent visits instead.
"As daily life becomes busier, the Industrial Mission gives more people an opportunity to talk to someone in complete confidence about their concerns."
