STAFF at an insurance company have been brought down to earth with a bump after two of their colleagues and a client fell pregnant at the same time.
Business was blooming when mums-to-be Leanne Owen, aged 25, and 32-year-old Jayne Woodall discovered customer Jackie Clee was also expecting when she came in to Hill House Hammond, Bromsgrove, to change her car insurance.
After recovering from the shock news that two of her employees would be taking maternity leave at the same time, sales manager Sharon Betteridge now fears there could be an epidemic in the office.
"Jackie came in to change her motor insurance as she's just bought a Ford Galaxy people carrier to accommodate her triplets when they're born," she said.
"I couldn't believe that another person associated with the branch was pregnant and due to give birth at exactly the same time as Jayne and Leanne.
"I'm beginning to think anyone who sets foot in the branch is going to end up pregnant."
Miss Betteridge decided to deliver a year's free insurance to the Clee family.
"It's partly to help out, but partly to ease the guilt the HHH premises might be responsible for the new arrivals," she said.
Looking after the triplets will prove quite a challenge for 36-year-old Mrs Clee, who already has daughters Paris, 14, and Sophie, 3.
"I was delighted when I found out that we were getting free insurance just because I'm pregnant," she said. "I must admit it's quite strange that myself, Leanne and Jayne are all due to give birth in July, but I wish the other girls the best of luck and thank Sharon for her generosity."
