TWO ambulance staff accused of attacking a man after answering a 999 call in Worcester will not be taken to court.
Police have closed their investigation into the allegation that the crew clubbed a man with a torch at Nightingale House, Wyld's Lane, after objecting to him using a video camera to film them.
But an internal inquiry is continuing into the matter and one of the men has been transferred to another post.
"We've received a call from police saying they've finished their inquiry," said Peter Crocker, manager of Worcester ambulance station. "My understanding is that the matter won't go to court.
"We're carrying on with our internal investigation and want to complete it as soon as possible, as that's best for all concerned."
Mr Crocker said the ambulance service had already decided there was no case to answer against one of the staff.
He confirmed that the second worker had been moved from duties in Worcester as a result of the assault claims, made three months ago.
"I didn't want him to be placed in a position where he might confront the person who made the original allegations," Mr Crocker said.
"He was offered the opportunity to work in Hereford or Redditch, or to move to the patient transport service in Evesham, which is a non-emergency role. He decided to work in Redditch."
Fiona Harrison, a spokeswoman for Worcester police, said officers had contacted the Crown Prosecution Service, which had decided no one would be prosecuted.
