I FOUND Dan Wicksteed's letter (You Say, May 2) incredible. Of course I want to see more money spent on education, as do all my Conservative colleagues.
However, where we differ with Coun Wicksteed, portfolio holder for the county's education, is with regard to the Government-funded SSA.
Labour, with their Liberal Democrat bedfellows have conned the electors of Worcestershire by increasing taxes year-on-year to fund the Government's rigged education policies and their pet projects.
Conservatives believe in giving Worcestershire schools more money, directly to spend as they wish, cut the unnecessary red tape in our schools and release teachers to educate the children and not be bogged down in Labour's endless bureaucracy and form-filling.
Incidentally Dan, the Worcester Evening News does not reach my constituents in the north of the county, so your contrived rants cannot be heard in Chaddesley.
However, I look forward to the electorate in Worcester St Clements relieving you of your duties very shortly.
STEPHEN CLEE, Worcestershire County Councillor, Chaddesley Division.
