WYTHALL gardeners will be looking forward to a trip down to Cornwall in the spring bank holiday.
A coach load of around 50 garden lovers will be heading down to Newquay on May 28 to see as many gardens as they can as well as the newly opened Eden Project.
After three trips abroad, this will be the first time the green-fingered friends have taken a holiday in Britain.
Mel Matthews, from the Wythall Gardening Club, said: "We've decided not to go abroad this year and to support the British holiday industry.
"It's been a long time since I have been down to Cornwall so it's going to be an exciting time for me."
The holiday comes after the club had decided not to enter the Chelsea Flower Show this year.
The past gold and silver winners have decided not to continue this year because of the amount of work involved and the expense of the show.
Mr Matthews said: "The Chelsea Flower Show is a long way away and means such a lot of work and we just haven't got the money to be able to do it."
