REDDITCH traders have held a party to celebrate the successful move of the market to Market Place.
The party was held at Valley Stadium and featured prestigious guests including national president of the Market Traders Federation, Mimi Riuington and treasurer John Padgett.
Along with the traders, Redditch borough councillors Ron and Betty Passingham, Carole Gandy, and Canon David Salt from St Stephens Church also attended.
The party also recognised the achievement of long-standing market traders Rose and Roy Satchwell, Edna and Reg Batch and Pat Hill who have traded in Redditch for more than 30 years each and are now retired.
Rose Satchwell said: "We had a fabulous time. It gave us a chance to meet some councillors and Canon Salt.
"It was just a lovely idea to get all the people from the market and shopkeepers together. It was a bit like a family reunion."
Redditch Market Traders' Federation chairman Chris Sutton said: "I would just like to thank bookmaker Wilf Gilbert who donated £200 towards the party."
