THE RNLI has recently honoured a Redditch volunteer with a prestigious award.
Ray Coley joined the town branch as treasurer in 1985 and received the RNLI's silver badge at the organisation's regional conference on May 3.
The award was presented by Victor Cocker CBE, a member of the RNLI's committee of management and fund-raising committee.
An RNLI spokesman said: "Mr Coley has undertaken his role of treasurer continuously for the last 16 years.
"In addition to his efficient handling of the branch's books, Ray is an enthusiastic member of the team, participating in and helping to organise the branch's fund-raising events.
"He is a keen walker and has taken part in various local and regional sponsored walks."
