THIS was a game of two halves -- Garringtons were the better side in the first half and Athletico were the best in the all important second.
Garringtons took the field with only 11 players plus two subs fit to play and looked more confident.
They took a deserved lead in the 22nd minute when Peter Shaw chipped the Athletico defence for Kevin Banner to run onto, who beat the advancing goalkeeper Chris Perry.
The game became more of a midfield battle with Garringtons having the edge. The second half started with Athletico running at Garringtons' defence. Garringtons defended stoutly, and the game went from end to end with both sides coming close.
Athletico introduced substitute Matt Dallaway in the 70th minute. He had an immediate impact and in the 75th minute he broke clear to give Athletico the equaliser.
In the next minute Athletico took the lead when their striker headed in at the back post.
The game became scrappy in the last seconds Athletico scored a scrambled goal.
