Rain prevented a prompt start to Worcestershire's County Championship Division Two match against Derbyshire at New Road today.
The covers were firmly in place when play was due to have got under way at 11am. An inspection was due to be held at 12 noon.
Worcestershire, without a win in their last five matches, were expected to have former Nottinghamshire left-handed batsman Paul Pollard back after a hamstring injury. He has missed the last six games.
Meanwhile, Worcestershire will play Hertfordshire in the third round of the Cheltenham and Gloucester Trophy on Wednesday, June 27, at Hertford.
Hertfordshire booked their place yesterday after beating Durham Cricket Board by losing fewer wickets in their second round tie at Welwyn Garden City.
