NEW Zealander Andre Adams turned in a man-of-the-match performance in Herefordshire's five-wicket Cheltenham and Gloucester Trophy second round victory over Gloucester Cricket Board at Brockhampton yesterday.
He took two catches, was involved in a run out and struck 46 runs to steer Herefordshire to a well deserved triumph.
They now face a mouth-watering clash against Middlesex at Luctonians Cricket Club on Wednesday, June 27.
Herefordshire had won the toss and put Gloucester CB into bat after a rain delayed start.
They made a useful start with openers Nick Stovold and Michael Sutliff sharing a stand of 60, but both fell to strike bowler Andy Edwards.
Six runs after Sutliff was out for 24, Adams took a superb diving catch at backward square leg to dismiss Stovold.
Partnership
At that stage Gloucester were 67-2, but two quick wickets broke a partnership of 36 for the fifth wicket and left Herefordshire a target of 170 for victory from 50 overs.
Herefordshire got off to a disastrous start when Aamir Farooque was out for a golden duck and three further quick wickets left them at a precarious 58-4.
But Adams and Edwards set about the Gloucester CB attack, forging a partnership of 79 of just 55 balls.
Adams was in full cry striking 46 runs from 36 balls including five fours and three huge sixes to change the game.
