EIGHT Redditch Rockets stars have been called up for Nations Cup duty with the British skater hockey side.

Player-coach Stephen Bruce, Stuart Cross and Steve Wheale have had call-ups for the senior men with Vicky Thomas and Sarah Bloor winning places in the womens team.

Both sides take on Germany, Denmark, Switzerland, Netherlands and Poland in Denmark at the weekend.

And Ben Green has been picked to captain the juniors in Germany in September where he will be joined by team mates Jamie Cross and Lee Auld.

Bruce has been sponsored by Hewell Road Sports and Social Club and his fellow caps are appealing for sponsorship. Anyone interested should call Joyce Green on 402071.
