SURELY the statement of the month must be in J Ratcliffe's letter of Tuesday, May 8, stating that Labour has not increased fuel tax.
Gordon Brown carried out his threat to hit car drivers by increasing tax by a staggering total of 60p per gallon over the first four Budgets. He reduced only diesel fuel by 2p at the last Budget to avoid a further hauliers' strike.
The recent decrease in petrol prices were by the petrol companies themselves but Brown has taken 2p a litre off the tax for two months to cover the possible dates of the General Election.
How deceitful can a government get - yet you people fall for it.
