ON Tuesday afternoon, as a vehicle was passing through Crabbs Cross village a little girl, not quite two years of age, was knocked down by the horses - the wheels of the vehicle then passed over the unfortunate child's body, crushing her limbs with disastrous consequences.
When the poor little girl was examined by Doctor Littlejohn it was found that the right arm and left leg were badly broken and her ankles were very seriously damaged.
She also suffered severe bruising of the face and head.
