A CHAPEL at a former mental hospital in Bromsgrove is set to be turned into offices.
Based at the former Barnsley Hall Mental Hospital site the chapel has been approved by Bromsgrove District Council's planning and highways committee to be turned into business premises.
The alterations are mainly internal and the building has not been listed.
At Monday's meeting, officers expressed their concerns about the surface of the parking outside the site which they want to be "sympathetic" to the surroundings.
They also highlighted concerns about the parking layout and called for changes to protect nearby trees.
Committee members granted permission for the scheme at the site which dates back around 100 years.
The chapel was part of the mental hospital unit, in Barnsley Hall Drive, which closed down in the mid-nineties.
