VICTIMS of crime in Bromsgrove will have an extra way of contacting police by logging on to a new scheme expected to be launched later this year.
Organised by the Police Information Technology Organisation (PITO) the national project means people who have experienced a crime can report it to officers via e-mail.
It is not meant to be used for emergency crimes or those in progress but for incidents which have recently happened and need to be reported.
It is an alternative to calling 999 or local police headquarters.
Although a date has not yet been revealed for the launch, West Mercia Constabulary has welcomed the moves.
A spokesman said: "It is an extra way for members of the public to contact us."
