BROMSGROVE Rugby Club face improved Midlands Two West rivals Newport in the North Midlands Cup Final this Sunday.
The Finstall Park outfit thrashed the Shropshire side twice in the league this season -- 75-0 at home and 65-7 away -- and hopes are high of winning the cup they last lifted in 1982.
But the game may be a lot closer than the league encounters between the two sides, with town missing key players.
Top points scorer Matt Birch, second row John Taylor and utility back Steve Gauder are all unavailable for the clash at Stourbridge Rugby Club.
Bromsgrove fixture secretary Ralph Gordon said: "The players are really fired up for this and we're confident of winning, but we recognise Newport are a different team to the one we played in the league -- they're better organised.
"It's the first time we've been in the final since 1988 so it would be nice to end the season with some silverware."
Kick off is 2pm at Stourbridge's ground on Stourton Road and entry is £5.
