TWO men attempted to burgle the flat of an elderly Bromsgrove man by claiming to be working on the water supply.
The 69-year-old was told the men needed to turn off the stopcock in his Sidemoor flat.
He was asked to empty out the cupboards and fill all his pots and pans with water while one of the men searched through the lounge of his Broad Street flat.
The offenders fled empty-handed when the pensioner became suspicious.
One man was white, aged betw-een 35 and 40 years, about 5ft 10in tall, stout, with dark hair.
He was wearing dark clothing.
The second man is described as white, around the same age, about 5ft 8in tall, well built with dark hair, dark clothing and a slight Irish accent.
Anyone with information is asked to call Bromsgrove police on (01527) 584888.
