SKIPPER Mark Mansell hailed Kidderminster Cricket Club's first Birmingham and District League Premier Division win of the season as crucial.
They defeated West Bromwich Dartmouth by three wickets with a fine 87 not out from Worcestershire's Reuben Spiring.
But Mansell admitted the brilliance of Spiring may cost his team who welcome back bowler Paul Thomas this weekend.
Kidderminster's captain admitted: "Reuben is a quality player and it's probably only a matter of time before he is called up by Worcestershire.
"They have told him to come here and prove his fitness. As long as he does well for us, that's the main thing. He looks a different class."
Mansell continued: "Saturday's result was the most important thing and it eases a bit of pressure. West Bromwich are going to be one of the sides near the bottom so that was a 40-pointer in some respects.
"It would have been a disaster if we'd lost to them. Hopefully, we can get a bit of a run together."
Kidderminster head to Wolverhampton on Saturday and then replay their National Knockout Cup clash at home to Himley on Sunday after it was rained off last weekend.
Mansell added: "Wolverhampton's not normally a particularly good ground for us but we have the side to do it this year.
"They are not one of the stronger sides so it's one we don't want to lose.
"And we will have a better team out this week to play Himley."
