CHADDESLEY Corbett reached round two of the National Village Championship with a 140-run victory over Holt and Grimley.
After electing to bat, Chaddesley scored steadily against a persevering Holt attack. They managed to score 89 in the last 10 overs to set a difficult target.
There were half centuries for Ian Chambers (57) and Kevin Truswell (51) plus a solid 41 for Sam Boden.
An electrical storm at tea-time threatened the game's completion but the rain relented, leaving enough time for the minimum of 20 overs to be bowled.
A revised target of 125 was well within Holt's range as Nicholson and Humphreys came out enthusiastically.
However, Phil Baylis rose to the occasion with 1-17 from five overs as Holt fell just 16 runs short. Round three is on May 27.
Chaddesley 249-5, Holt 109-7.
Chaddesley snatched victory from the jaws of defeat with a thrilling last-ball win over Pershore in the Worcestershire County League Division One.
Mark Edwards and Chambers justified Matt Boden's decision to bowl by reducing the visitors to 60-4.
Pershore captain Trevor Ridings consolidated with P Oxley (74 not out) in a fifth-wicket partnership of 75 before John Riches had Riding caught at extra cover.
Andy Elbro excelled, finishing with 3-26 from 13 overs.
Once again, a strong batting line-up failed to live up to its expectations as Chaddesley struggled to 101-7 in the 36th over.
At this stage, opening bowler L Hawkes had figures of 6-49 but he tired as Truswell launched the decisive assault and, in partnership with S Boden, 62 were added in 11 overs.
S Boden was run out for 22 but Elbro batted well to leave Chaddesley needing seven from the final over.
Two twos and two singles brought the scores level and a four over square leg settled the issue. Truswell's 83 came from 93 balls with 13 fours.
Pershore 188-8, Chaddesley 192-8.
