GET the Jimi Hendrix Experience when tribute band Stone Free come to Evesham next month.
The Cardiff-based three piece have attracted rave reviews from all areas of the press and there is sure to be lots of crosstown traffic making its way to the Vale when they play Evesham Working Men's Club on June 1.
The band, made up of guitarist Glyn Knight, bassist Bob Winter and drummer Neil Griffiths, lay claim to being 'The Ultimate Jimi Hendrix Experience' and have toured Britain and Europe over the last four years.
The band came together in 1996, after Glyn and Neil had served time in rhythm and blues band Snatch It Back, they met bassist Bob Winter and the trio was complete.
Glyn's Hendrix obsession began when he first saw Jimi on Top of the Pops in the 1960s.
He said: "I'd never seen anything like Hendrix before, he was playing this upside-down Strat and the sound was like nothing on earth."
From then on, Glyn knew what type of music he wanted to play and nearly 30 years later he finally found the musicians to build a formidable reconstruction of the Jimi Hendrix Experience.
Support comes from Evesham band Guilty.
Tickets cost £5 in advance from Vine Music or £6 on the door.
