HOCKEY: Stourport U-16s won the Worcestershire League for the second consecutive season with an excellent performance from a squad that only played eight games together.
The team won six, drew one and lost just one of their matches, bringing much pride to the club.
Stourport have not seen much success at senior level this season.
Juniors of all age groups have developed their individual skills and team performances to a high level.
Stourport's results: Old Halesonians lost 3-4, Droitwich won 11-1, Worcester won 7-1, Kings Heath won 7-1, Barford Tigers drew 2-2, Evesham won 7-2, Kidderminster won 4-3, Redditch won 3-1.
The squad was Robert Farmer, Ashley Sadler (goalkeepers), Dan Packwood, Tom Lewis, Alastair Rosie, Jackie Russell, Chris Perry, Ian Lye, Tina Evans, Melissa Kennedy, Scott Dimmock, Michael Shaw, Kerry Maughan, Luke Copeman, Adam Taylor, James Terry, Ben Taylor, Luke Martin and Harry Willetts.
Particular mention should to to Perry, Lye and Dimmock who played seven of the eight games.
They will now be too old for the team next season but will form a strong trio at U-18 level.
Anyone aged U-18 who would like to join Stourport can contact Peter Terry on 07715 697054 or the club on 01299 877200.
